Welcome to BCBA

When you're enjoying beautiful Cape Cod, you see flowers in the fields, gardens, and grass. Surprisingly, there are even flowers in our scrub pine and oak filled woodlands. Sometimes, when you look at a flower, you may see a honey bee visiting. If you stop and observe her for a little while, think about her stripes, her buzz, and notice the pollen on her legs. Did you know this is a worker bee?  Did you know almost every honey bee you see is female?  Maybe you know all that already, but if you want to learn, perhaps you would like to try beekeeping or support local honeybees in general. Either way, you're where you need to bee.

The Barnstable County Beekeepers Association (BCBA) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. It has been active for more than 40 years and has more that 450 households on Cape Cod and the surrounding area. Our club runs a number of annual activities around beekeeping, holds an annual bee school for "newbies", can be found doing community outreach and also hosts our Honey House at the Barnstable County Fair in summers and during the Harvest Festival in the fall..

Please feel free to forage our site, we hope that you will drift in and stay. We meet monthly at the West Barnstable at the Community Center. Visit our calendar for details. All are welcome.
